For research use only. Not for human, veterinary, or therapeutic use. Sold as a laboratory selection reagent. CAS 1405-10-3. Used in molecular biology to select bacteria carrying the neomycin-resistance gene and to control contamination in cell culture media.
Neomycin Sulfate Solution is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits translation by binding to the small subunit of prokaryotic ribosomes. It inhibits PLC, phosphatidylchline-PLD activity, and angiogenin induced angiogenesis. Neomycin is typically used in cell culture applications. The concentration varies from 8.0 – 12.0mg/ml.
