Privacy policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This policy explains how Banvue Point International, Inc., doing business as IBI Scientific ("IBI Scientific," "we," "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit www.ibisci.com, create an account, place an order, sign up for emails, interact with us on social media or contact us. Questions: call 1-800-253-4942 or email info@ibisci.com.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us: name, institution or company, job title, email, phone, billing and shipping addresses, purchase order and tax-exempt details, product reviews, survey answers, sample and quote requests, and anything you include when you call, email, chat or message us.
  • Order and account information: products purchased, prices, discounts used, payment status and order history. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Authorize.net); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Information collected automatically: IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, referring site or ad, campaign tags (such as UTM parameters), searches, items viewed and added to cart, and purchases. We collect this with cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits and similar technologies, including server-to-server connections between our store and our advertising partners.
  • Email and SMS engagement: whether you open our emails or texts, which links you click, and when you unsubscribe.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps: how visitors scroll, click and move through pages, so we can find and fix problems with the site. Payment fields and passwords are not recorded.
  • Information from other sources: social media platforms when you follow, comment on or message our accounts; advertising partners that tell us which ads led to a visit or purchase; distributors and marketplaces that sell our products; and publicly available professional information, such as institutional directories and published research grants, that we use to contact researchers about products relevant to their work.

How we use it

  • To process orders, ship products, issue invoices, handle returns and repairs, and provide customer and technical support.
  • To manage your account and its pricing benefits.
  • To send order, shipping and account messages.
  • To send marketing emails and, where you have agreed, text messages about products, offers, samples, events and resources. This includes automated messages based on your activity, such as a welcome series, a reminder about items left in your cart, a reorder reminder or a request to review a product you bought.
  • To show you relevant ads on Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Microsoft Bing and other sites, including ads based on pages you viewed on our site (remarketing).
  • To create audiences for advertising, including "lookalike" or "similar" audiences of people who resemble our customers, and to exclude existing customers from ads.
  • To measure which ads, emails and posts lead to visits and purchases, and to improve our advertising spend.
  • To understand how the site is used, test changes and improve it.
  • To display and publish product reviews you submit.
  • To prevent fraud, secure our systems, and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Customer lists and conversion data shared with advertising platforms

We may upload contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers to Google (Customer Match and enhanced conversions), Meta (Custom Audiences and the Conversions API), LinkedIn (Matched Audiences) and Microsoft Advertising. This information is hashed (converted to a scrambled code) before or when it is uploaded. The platforms use it to match you to your account on their service so we can show you relevant ads, find similar people, exclude you from ads, and measure whether our ads led to a purchase. You can opt out at any time as described under "Your choices."

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with service providers and partners that help us run and promote the business:

  • Store and payments: Shopify (platform, hosting and checkout) and Authorize.net (payment processing)
  • Shipping: shipping carriers, to deliver your order
  • Email, SMS and reviews: Klaviyo (email, SMS, sign-up forms and product reviews)
  • Site tools: Searchanise (site search), Lucky Orange (session recordings and heatmaps), SmartBot (chat) and Schema Plus (search engine product data)
  • Analytics and advertising: Google (Analytics, Ads, Merchant Center, Search Console and YouTube), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, Microsoft Advertising (Bing) and X
  • Social media scheduling: Buffer
  • Distributors that fulfill or support your order, where needed
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, and authorities when required by law

Some of these partners use cookies and other identifiers to show you ads on other sites and to measure results. Under some U.S. state privacy laws, this may be considered "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or "targeted advertising." You can opt out as described below. We may also disclose information to protect our rights or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Necessary: keep the cart, checkout, login and security working. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site (for example, Google Analytics and Lucky Orange).
  • Marketing: measure ads and show relevant ads on other sites (for example, the Google tag, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft UET tag).
  • Preferences: remember settings such as region and currency.

Your choices

  • Cookie banner: visitors in the EU, UK and other regions where consent is required can accept, decline or manage analytics and marketing cookies when they first visit, and change their choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
  • Opt out of selling, sharing and targeted advertising: U.S. residents can use the "Your privacy choices" link in the site footer, or call 1-800-253-4942 or email info@ibisci.com. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out.

  • Text messages: reply STOP to any marketing text. Message and data rates may apply. We will only send marketing texts if you have agreed to receive them, and agreeing is not a condition of purchase.
  • Ad platform settings: you can also manage ad preferences in your Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft account settings, or through industry tools such as optout.aboutads.info.
  • Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies; some site features may not work without them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, and to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of it (data portability), to restrict or object to certain processing, to opt out of selling, sharing or targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Visitors in the EU and UK

We process personal information to perform our contract with you (orders and support), to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our business and marketing to business customers, and, for analytics and marketing cookies and marketing messages where required, with your consent. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and may complain to your local data protection authority.

Retention and security

We keep order and account records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet tax and legal requirements, and marketing and analytics data for as long as it is useful for those purposes, then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data in Google Analytics is kept for 14 months. We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable service providers to protect your information.
