IBI’s Bacteriological Agar is used as a solidification agent in the preparation of microbiological culture media. Granulated agar is a water soluble colloidal extract from certain species of marine red algae; includingGelidium,Pterocladia, andGracilaria. Impurities, debris, minerals, and pigments are reduced to specific levels during manufacturing. The majority of microorganisms cannot digest agar, thus making it an excellent solidifying agent. Granulated agar may also be used for general microbiological purposes where clarity is not a strict requirement.

IBI Bacteriological Agar is ideal for use in microbiology research and molecular biology research applications demonstrating excellent lot-to-lot consistency and high purity. IBI Bac Agar is an excellent choice for your research application.

Store at room temperature, tightly sealed, and protect from moisture and light.
